About Us

The GBR Society’s activities are coordinated by a Steering Committee consisting of public research scientists from all different regions of the world involved in research in the field of biorenewables.

The GBR Society Steering Committee members are:

• Prof. Luuk van der Wielen, B-Basic (Netherlands), Chair
• Prof. Weber Amaral, Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of São Paulo (Brazil) Vice-Chair
• Prof. Anton Middelberg, University of Queensland (Australia)
• Prof. Manuel Mota, Institute for Biotechnology and Bioengineering (IBB) (Portugal)
• Prof. Chris Somerville, Energy Biosciences Institute (USA)
• Prof. Richard Templer, Porter Alliance (United Kingdom)

Assessments are conducted by experts in dedicated Working Groups. During the founding phase the Society has focused its activities on the subjects of Land Use Change and Biofuels.

Both Steering Committee and Working Groups will be supported by a secretariat, which will initially be hosted by the TU Delft.
