We invite scientists and experts in biorenewables who wish to contribute to the impartial examination of the issues facing the use of biological feedstocks for non-food uses to join the Global Biorenewables Research Society.

As a member you will be able to apply for membership of one of our Working Groups which are responsible for the different assessments carried out by the Society. Currently, Working Groups on the following subjects have been put into place:

  • Land Use Changes; providing a broad overview of the impacts of using land for bioenergy production for agriculture, food prices and international trade, the environment, poverty and income distribution.
  • Biofuels Senerio’s; to develop global scenarios for biorenewable products, especially bio-based energy, based on regional information, to enable comparison of potential options.

Working Group members are selected on the basis of their expertise by the Executive Board and provide input either by writing the first draft or by providing comments and feedback on draft assessments and review papers. If after membership application, you are interested in joining one of the Working Groups you are invited to inform the Executive Board through the Secretariat.

In addition, as a member you will receive regular updates on our activities and have access to the information published by the Society. All members registered will be displayed on the GBR Society website with name, affiliation and country.
